Friday 16th January 2015 - The Big Buddha
This is definitely worth a trip, if you ever happen to be passing by Hong Kong. I know the clue is in the name, but seriously the buddha is SO BIG.
You can take a cable car up from the MTR station, but there was a huge queue and to be honest I’m just not down for queueing. So I dragged my mum onto the bus instead. A cost saver, yes, but also something of a death ride.
If you survive the journey, you can walk up the steps and around the Buddha, wander around the nearby temples and coo at the temple dogs.
And to top it all off, when you've finished you can pop to the on site Starbucks for a coffee! Not in keeping with the theme, some may say. But who can refuse a ginger nut latte after a morning of sightseeing?
