Monday 9th March 2015 - The Feng Shui Master
It is traditional for Chinese businesses to invite a Feng Shui master into their office before the New Year, so he can rearrange stuff in a way which will bring good luck and prosperity.
I was expecting him to replicate my mother during her hippie days, by clapping towards corners with straight arms and arranging Feng Shui books on the coffee table. But he had rather a different focus. In fact, his major concern was the location of clocks. Apparently by having clocks above/next to doors, our employer was putting the health of her teachers (myself included) at risk.
As a result, our clocks are now blue-tacked onto the middle of the classroom windows, in a rather ungraceful fashion. But who cares about the window arrangement when I have a year of top notch health to look forward to!
