Tuesday 10th March 2015 - Washing Lines

Due to the high rise nature of Hong Kong living, washing is precariously pegged out of windows. This, of course, results in washing being lost if a gust of wind should blow your way.

This morning I was making a coffee, when I saw something blowing around outside my window. I thought it was a massive butterfly (no word of a lie) and rushed to take a closer look. Surprisingly, it wasn’t a colossal red admiral, but a rather sizeable pair of red pants. I watched them land in the middle of the road, and then wondered whether the owner would rush down and collect them, or leave them (as I would) and pretend they belonged to someone else.

I’m going to keep an eye on them throughout the day and report back.
