Wednesday March 18th 2015 - Humidity

Hong Kong hasn't even gotten close to the horrific humidity levels which I have been warned about, and already I am having a airborne-moisture-related-breakdown. This morning I noticed a small patch of damp above my bedroom window, so I shot down to the shop (like a mature adult) to buy a dehumidifier machine thing. Upon entering the shop, I pointed very clearly to a big box labelled DEHUMIDIFIER. There was no mistake. This was the machine for me. After faffing around in the back for a while, the shop assistant lugged something in from the back and sent me on my way (minus 80 of my hard earned pounds).

At this point, I must admit, I was feeling rather cocky. I plugged in my new purchase, and went about my day, excitement in my eyes at the prospect of coming home to empty the water tray, and marvelling at all the moisture which my clever new sidekick had plucked out of the air. And all without the help of an adult/parent.

But it turns out there wasn't a water tray in my stupid, expensive machine. Because the shop assistant has given me an air PURIFIER. Not the dehumidifier which I so badly need. And now it's all unpacked and I have loads of stupid pure air in my room. Stupid pure, humid air.

If a parent could pop over and sort out my domestic crisis, I would be really appreciative.
