Fake tan faux pas are all around in the UK. I once dyed my eyebrows ginger by accident with the stuff. It happens to the best of us.

In Hong Kong, however, it's a whole different story. I haven't seen a streaky leg or a fake baked face in time. Rather, people shelter from the sun under umbrellas. And, as you probably will have gathered from my numerous complaints, fake tan is not a commodity sold in any shops over here.

Really, it is sensible to shelter yourself from the sun with a brolly. UV rays and all that. However, I take issue with people cramming up the pavement space with their umbrellas when it is definitively overcast.

Put the brolly down woman.
