Crossing the road in Beijing means taking your life into your own hands. Even when the lights are at red, a rather unnerving amount of cars just keep going. And if the risk of being run over by a vehicle doesn’t add enough excitement to your outing, then being mowed down by one of the bazillion bicycles ought to do the trick.
Beijing may be the Queen of Peking duck, but she sure as hell isn't the Queen of road safety.
